Our Programmes
Three courses,
one clear path
Each programme is designed for a specific stage of thinking about dividend investing. Together, they form a progression from first principles through to a personal income plan.

How we structure the learning
The three programmes are built on a shared philosophy: understanding before action. Each course gives participants the conceptual tools to think clearly about a particular dimension of dividend investing — before they consider applying those ideas in their own portfolio.
Material is delivered in sequenced weekly modules. Participants read, work through exercises, and bring questions to cohort sessions. For the more advanced programmes, exercises are cumulative — earlier work feeds into later modules rather than being self-contained.
The pre-retirement programme is the most intensive: participants produce a written income plan with facilitator feedback, developed progressively across ten weeks.

Dividend Investing First Principles
A four-week course for readers in their 40s and 50s who want to understand dividend-paying investments before considering them in their own portfolio. Topics include the difference between yield and total return, how Hong Kong- and US-listed companies differ in payout behaviour, and the practical mechanics of how dividends are paid, taxed, and reinvested. The course avoids specific stock recommendations and uses historical examples only.
What the course covers
- Dividend yield vs total return — the distinction and why it matters
- How HK-listed and US-listed companies approach dividends differently
- Mechanics: declaration dates, ex-dividend dates, payment timelines
- Tax treatment of dividends received in Hong Kong
- Reinvestment approaches — DRIP and alternatives
- Historical examples used throughout — no current stock recommendations
Course 2 · 6 Weeks · HKD 2,480
Income-Focused Portfolios
A six-week programme for those thinking about a portfolio tilted toward income, whether as a supplement to working income or as preparation for partial retirement. Modules cover sustainable payout ratios, the risks of yield-chasing, the role of bonds alongside dividend equities, and the discipline of thinking about income relative to a planned spending pattern.
What the programme covers
- What makes a payout ratio sustainable — and how to read one
- Yield-chasing: the appeal, the risk, and the historical pattern
- The role of bonds within an income-tilted portfolio
- Mapping portfolio income against planned spending patterns
- Dividend cuts — causes, signals, and portfolio implications
- Portfolio construction principles for income focus
Course 3 · 10 Weeks · HKD 3,180
Dividend Strategy for Pre-Retirement
A ten-week programme for learners approaching a life stage where investment income will play a larger role. Modules cover portfolio construction for income needs, tax treatment of dividends in Hong Kong and from offshore holdings, withdrawal sequencing between dividends and capital, and the non-financial questions that surround shifting from accumulation to use. Participants build a written income plan with facilitator feedback.
What the programme covers
- Portfolio construction oriented toward income needs
- Tax treatment of HK-listed dividends and offshore holdings
- Withdrawal sequencing: dividends vs capital drawdown
- MPF in context of an income-focused portfolio
- The transition from accumulation to income use
- Written personal income plan developed with facilitator feedback
